Mark your calendars!

Three events I want to highlight:

1. This Saturday, October 22, is MCC Windsor's Fright Night Out Halloween Pasta Dinner-Dance! It's all you can eat pasta, music (crowd fave DJ Dan) and of course--costumes! Top three win prizes! There's also a door prize and 50/50 draw! All for just $10/person ($5 for kids and students)! Join us--1680 Dougall, 6 pm dinner, dancing starts at 8 pm!

2. Saturday, November 5--"Worship Then, Now and How;" 9 am - 3 pm, 1680 Dougall Ave. Ever wondered about the worship service, the why and how? Why are there candles on the table? Why does the congregation sing? Why does Communion in a United Church seem a lot like Communion in a Catholic Church? Or have you thought about serving on a worship team, but weren't sure what you would have to do or how to do it? This is the day for you! In the  morning, we'll be discussing the whys and how of worship--the history and development, and why MCCs do what MCCs do in worship. Bring a bag lunch and get to know someone new! In the afternoon, we'll learn about how to lead worship, with some hands-on (or should that be voices-on?) practise, including feedback. The facilitators for the day are Dale Burkholder (musician), John Shellhorn (worship deacon) and Rev. Martha Daniels.

3. Beginning Wednesday, November 2, at 7 pm, MCC Windsor (1680 Dougall) will offer a lectionary Bible study. The lectionary is the three-year cycle of reading used by most churches for the reading each week in the worship service. We will read and discuss the reading for the coming Sunday. All you need is yourself, and a Bible if you have one (a variety of translations is welcome!).

If you have any questions or for more information, call the church office at 519-977-6897.
